WALK THROUGH THE CATECHISM - WC1-4 - Four courses (one semester each) in the series: WC1, WC2, WC3, WC4
This two-year course (four semesters) provides an in depth search through each part of the CCC: the Creed, the Sacraments, Christian Morals and Prayer. The whole content of the faith is covered, the four ancient divisions suggested by Acts 2:42.
Sean Innerst, Ph.D. (candidate), developed this course. He is on the faculty of both the Augustine Institute and the St. John Vianney Theological Seminary. He is a convert from the Quakers, coauthor of the multi-volume Catholic for a Reason series from Emmaus Press and a contributor to the Encyclopedia of Catholic Doctrine and numerous articles published in the popular Catholic press.
SPIRITUAL WISDOM OF THE SAINTS - WS1-2 - Two courses, one semester each
This course explores the teachings of the great mystics of the Church to find wisdom applicable to our lives today.
Explore the discussion of texts from ancient mystics including St Anthony of the Desert, St Athanasius, and St Augustine through the saints of the 20th Century such as St Therese of Lisieux, St Elizabeth of the Trinity and Blessed Charles de Foucauld.
Drawing from the spiritual teachings of the great mystic saints, the course will introduce key elements of Catholic Spirituality that have developed over the centuries - medieval mystics like St Bernard and St Catherine of Siena, 16th Century mystics like St Teresa of Avila and St John of the Cross.
